In 2016, the first Focus of a Child program was launched in Kolkata, India, beginning with a photography initiative for a group of middle school–aged children living in the slums of the city. Over the course of a month, we worked with kids who had never held a camera before—many of whom had never been told they were creative, capable, or full of potential.
What started as simple instruction quickly became something far deeper. As the children learned how to use a camera, they also learned how to see—how to notice beauty, tell stories, and express emotions through images. Day by day, hesitant beginners grew into passionate young artists, discovering confidence and joy in their own creativity.
Beyond photography skills, the program intentionally equipped each child with tools they could carry for the rest of their lives: patience, discipline, problem-solving, teamwork, and self-worth. The camera became more than a piece of equipment—it became a voice, a source of pride, and a reminder that their stories mattered.
At the heart of Focus of a Child was love. Every lesson was grounded in encouragement, respect, and relationship. Through our time together, we shared the love of God with each student—not only through words, but through actions: by showing up consistently, believing in them, and creating a safe space where they felt seen, valued, and known.
This was more than a photography program. It was an investment in children—helping shape confident, creative individuals while planting seeds of hope, purpose, and faith that will continue to grow long after the cameras were put down.

As we step into 2026, Vertical Central is entering a defining season—one marked by vision, momentum, and expansion. What began as a focused commitment to storytelling, creativity, and discipleship has grown into a global movement of strategic projects designed to serve churches, communities, and the next generation of leaders.
2026 is the year of expansion for Vertical Central. With multiple initiatives underway across continents, we are actively investing in both innovation and legacy. One of our key projects is the iDream Technology initiative in Zambia, where we are leveraging technology, creative training, and infrastructure development to equip young people with practical skills, purpose-driven education, and opportunities for long-term impact. This project represents our heart to empower communities not just spiritually, but holistically—through tools that open doors for the future.
At the same time, Vertical Central is deeply involved in historical content development for Magnify Church, a start-up church plant in Cape Town, South Africa. This work goes beyond branding or media—it is about capturing vision, preserving testimony, and helping establish a strong spiritual and cultural foundation for a new faith community. By documenting the story from the very beginning, we are helping Magnify Church articulate who they are, why they exist, and how God is moving in and through their city.
Together, these projects reflect where Vertical Central stands today: rooted in faith, driven by creativity, and committed to global impact. We are building bridges between technology and ministry, history and innovation, local presence and global reach. As we move forward, our focus remains clear—to elevate stories that matter, equip leaders with meaningful tools, and partner with God in what He is doing around the world.
2026 is not just a year on the calendar for Vertical Central—it is a launching point for growth, influence, and expanded vision.
