Throughout his Photography career, Steve has taught and mentored photographers through workshops and classes. Known for his fun, energetic, and encouraging teaching style, he loves helping photographers grow while fostering community, confidence, and a servant’s heart.

Mark Behrens has been creating high-quality photographs for over twenty years, with a heart rooted in ministry and a passion for using creativity as a means to serve others. What began as a love for photography and teaching has grown into a calling to invest in children, strengthen faith-based non-profits, and equip the next generation through creative and technical education.
Mark has led photography workshops attended by thousands of amateur and professional photographers around the world and, since 2010, has taught Adobe Photoshop in 38 states. Alongside this work, he has helped develop child-focused photography programs—often in underserved communities—using photography as a platform to build confidence, encourage creative expression, and communicate timeless, faith-centered values.
Whether in a classroom, a workshop, or a ministry setting, Mark brings a relational, down-to-earth teaching style that makes both technical and creative concepts accessible. He believes photography is more than an art form—it is a powerful tool for storytelling, discipleship, and service. Rarely without a camera in hand, Mark sees it as an extension of the photographer’s heart and a way to reflect God’s creativity in the world.
In addition to his photography and nonprofit work, Mark serves as the Technology Director at Gospel Life Church in Redding, California, where he supports the church’s mission through media, production, and technical leadership. His role allows him to blend creativity, technology, and ministry in service of the local church and the broader faith community.
Mark’s professional work has appeared in Banzai Magazine and ESPN and includes collaborations with musicians, A-list celebrities, and professional athletes. Today, his greatest passion is leveraging his experience to serve faith-based organizations, helping them tell compelling stories and equipping children and leaders with creative tools that point to hope and purpose.
When he’s not teaching, serving in ministry, or working in his studio, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife and their four children. Together, they love boating, camping, hiking, and riding quads in the mountains near their home in Redding, California.
